GWS Motorsport proudly hosted Tructyre’s annual Motorsport extravaganza at Silverstone; the iconic home of the British Grand Prix.
Tructyre; specialists in tyre management for commercial vehicles, invited 21 guests to pitch the delightful squeal of the agile Ferrari F430 Coupe against the graceful refinement of the Aston Martin Vantage. Each with 4.3 litre V8 engines, capable of 0-60 mph in around 4 seconds and top speeds of 195mph and 175mph respectively, they offer very different driving experiences. The afternoon set pulses racing with the incredible grip, steering and lightning acceleration of the Formula Silverstone Single Seaters. Followed by adrenaline inducing high speed rides around Stowe in the BMW M2 Competition (4.2 seconds and 174mph), alongside professional motor racing drivers.
Each challenge was carefully timed, allowing GWS’s Jamie Stanley to proudly present ‘Tructyre does British Touring Car Championship’ Trophies to:
Phil Brown, Director of Wiltshire Heavy Building Materials in the Ferrari F430 Coupe
Jonathon Glynn, Operations Director of ARS Altmann UK in the Aston Martin Vantage
Stephen Johnson of J&B Bulk Haulage in the Formula Silverstone Single Seaters
Russell Scotcher of Mid-Sussex Forklifts as Overall Driver of the Day
Throughout the day; Sunday 16th September, guests watched the BTCC Races from the Woodcote VIP Suite and trackside terrace. This year marks the 60th Anniversary of the British Touring Car Championships, with the series title being decided at Brands Hatch at the end of the month.
