GWS Motorsport host Tructyre’s Annual Drivers Awards
GWS Motorsport were thrilled to host Tructyre’s Annual Drivers Awards in May this year. The corporate motorsport event took place at the prestigious Silverstone GP circuit, home of UK motorsport.
John Brand, Tructyre's Group Operations Manager said "it was good to be able to award our drivers and to let off some driving steam, but in a safe environment on a race track, and not on the road, and the competition will continue in 2016\17".
Tructyre annually hold a corporate driving event for their 120 fleet drivers to recognise the employees commitment to safe and responsible driving thoughout the year, the drivers behaviour is measured during the year by on board truck telematics which is used as the basis for the awards. GWS Motor Racing arranged a unique team building experience in the form of a VIP corporate driving day at Silverstone to motivate the Tructyre team.
As part of the GWS Motorsport corporate hospitality package current British GT Pro Drivers Jamie Stanley and Ben Clucas provided a full day of expert tuition and motorsport racing for the lucky winners. The employees of Tructyre were invited to choose between the Renault Megane RS and the Lotus 211 to take part in the corporate driving day at Silverstone. The day included safety briefings, a relaxing lunch in the clubhouse and hot laps around the Silverstone Formula One Grand Prix Circuit.
British GT Pro Driver, Jamie Stanley, was keen to put the truck drivers through their paces and test their driving ability in the top line cars around the Silverstone track. Despite the difficult wet conditions the truck drivers were able to adapt their driving skills quickly to get to grips with the cars and circuit.
Jamie and the team at GWS Motorsport look forward to welcoming the Tructyre fleet drivers back in 2017 to celebrate another successful year of safe and responsible truck driving.
